Rosa Kruger has been a consultant vineyard manager for different cellars who designs new vineyard sites and manages existing vineyards for quality wine for 20 years. In 2016, she founded the Old Vine Project, formalising something that had been taking shape since 2002. Rosa Kruger is the 2022 Decanter Hall of Fame recipient, making her the first viticulturist and first South African to crack the nod in the 38-year history of the award.

Prue’s commitment to restoring balance to the natural environment and to regenerating the Henschke vineyard ecosystems while minimising harmful impacts has seen her win many local and international awards. In 1986 Prue began a project in the old Mount Edelstone and Hill of Grace shiraz vineyards, to select the best genetic material for vineyard replanting, aiming at selecting the vines that produce the most intense colour and flavour in the grapes. The results led to the development of Scott Henry trellis on the old shiraz vines to enhance the unique flavours of each of these old vines.

In 1993 Jane was awarded an OBE for her services to New Zealand wines, and in 2009 she was made a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to viticulture. She has also been recognized at the New Zealand Trade and Enterprise's 'World Class New Zealand Awards' for her outstanding contribution to the country's economic development.

In 2020 Filipa was elected Winemaker of the Year in Portugal by the Revista de Vinhos, the first Portugese woman to earn the title in 30 years. Passion for the traditional indigenous grape varietals of Bairrada led Filipa to start her own project in 2001. Together with her husband William Wouters, they farm 12 hectares of vineyards scattered across Bairrada. Utilizing biodynamic farming practices and minimal-intervention winemaking, and focusing solely on indigenous grapes,

Meike joined the family business in 2005. With her sister Dörte, the winery ensures ecological balance in the bottle by working with lighter bottles, and thus lessen emissions of CO2 during both bottle production and shipping. Now with her husband Markus Klumpp, where she and the 2nd generation winemaker of Ecovin-certified Weingut Klumpp began a joint wine label named “Hand in Hand” in 2009. Grapes from one of the orchards in Baden was combined with the Pinot Noir (Spätburgunder) from a plot of Näkel Meyer.Currently, Meike also serves as a vice president on the executive board of the VDP.

María Luz is the first female winemaker and winery owner in Chile. After graduating from the University of Chile with a degree in agronomy and winemaking, Maria Luz worked in various wineries, and in 2000 she successfully established the first cool climate winery in South America and the Pacific Coast. She has successfully positioned her fine wines in the top markets and among international critics, where they stand out for their high quality.

Zhou was part of the R&D team behind the first bottle of Ning Xia Red Wine in 1985. Later she joined “Helan Mountain” as winemaker and started her career as an “independent winemaker“ in 2014, becoming the first independent winemaker in the region, consulting on many famous wines for Kanaan Winery and Legacy Peak.

Lora began working at Dalmore distillery and joined the MsC programme at Heriot-Watt. As Head of Distillation at ATOM Brands, Lora worked with production and NPD across a range of spirits and liqueurs. In 2018, she landed her dream job and joined Diageo's new distillery project in Dublin as Head Distiller for Roe and Co.

In 2019 Kirsteen became the first woman to take on the position of The Macallan Master Whisky Maker in its long-standing history spanning almost 200 years. She had a hand (literally) in creating The Reach, the oldest whisky ever released by The Macallan featuring a single malt dating back to 1940.

In 2021, after years’ service at Diageo, Emma was promoted to the top job, the “master blender” of Johnnie Walker. She is the first woman to hold the role at the brand that dates back more than 200 years. Her innovations include the Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost and Rare series and Jane Walker by Johnnie Walker.
